If there was a surprise in the 2009 Dirtiest Ride Downunder competition, it was the clean sweep of the Tasmanian entrants taking out all the prizes. I can't help but get the feeling that the Taswegians put a much greater emphasis on their dirt bike riding ... or at least talking about it.
In fairness, Tassie does have a massive amount of trails to ride (mostly thanks to the Timber Industry), which other Australian states simply cannot match. The simple truth is that Tasmania is a veritable dirt biking and motorcycling paradise for riders of any type of two wheeled machine. If you don't believe me, one trip over on the ferry from the mainland will surely convince you.
But enough of this spruking of Tassie's virtues, lets get back to the all important 2009 competition winners.
- First Prize goes to Jacqueline Gray for the story and photos with the most mud
- Second Prize has been awarded to Ben Wilson
- Third Prize goes to Dan English
and last but certainly not least our ...
- Trailriderz Prize winner is Stuart Chugg
All up they are a bunch of great entries, and we heartily congratulate all for taking the time to enter. I have to confess however, that I was hoping to see more mud ... maybe next year ;-))
